Well, they’re still draining the floods out on the Levels. Looks like a large amount of farmland is going to be useless this year. They can drain the standing water, but the whole area is “reclaimed” from what was a marsh, centuries back, so the water that’s soaked in will be going nowhere fast.
The puddle in question, over the road from our back gate, appears whenever we get a few hours heavy rain.
I saw some of that on the news, but I didn’t realize that it was going to have an effect on the entire year for farmers.
My immediate area isn’t so bad. It’s just urban enough that the weather is rarely meaningful. There’s a university two blocks away and that’s where the picture was taken.
