Weekly Photo Challenge: Nostalgia

At first I thought that this would be really hard. At the moment, I’m over at my sister’s cat sitting, but, instead of limiting me as I originally imagined, it gave me opportunities. I looked around her house and found items I remembered from my childhood that I haven’t really taken a look at in a long time.

A small stuffed animal, a copy of the book Adam Bede, a chess piece.

My grandmother gave my sister and me each a small stuffed animal and a book on our birthdays when we were little. The chess piece was carved by my great-grandfather who was a violin maker. George Eliot is possibly my favorite author and this is the very same copy of the first book by her that I read. It was my grandfather’s favorite novel as well, and this copy had belonged to him once.

I tried to make the photo look a little bit aged using the tools in Paint.NET.
